Determined to share the life-changing experience of hypnotherapy with others after experiencing it myself, I undertook formal training with the Academy of Hypnosis and became a Certified Hypnotherapist through the American Council of Hypnosis Examiners (ACHE) in 2021.
I have also been a certified Yoga Instructor since 2015.
Whether you’re looking to change a habit, address depression or anxiety, or get unstuck I eagerly await the opportunity to assist you on your journey to a happier life.
WHAT IS HYPNOTHERAPY?
Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic approach that utilizes hypnosis to help individuals make positive changes in their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is a form of psychotherapy that aims to access the subconscious mind to address various issues, including psychological, emotional, and even physical concerns.
Here's how hypnotherapy works and what it can be used for:
Goal-Oriented Approach: Hypnotherapy is goal-oriented. You will identify your specific goal or desired outcome, and I will structure the session to help you achieve your goal.
Hypnosis: Hypnosis is a state of fixed, focused attention and deep relaxation. During your hypnotherapy session, I will guide you into this relaxed state through deep breathing and verbal suggestions. This relaxed state is sometimes referred to as a trance, but it's important to note that you are fully aware and in control during this process.
Accessing the Subconscious Mind: In the hypnotic state, your conscious mind becomes more relaxed and less critical, while the subconscious mind becomes more receptive to suggestions. Healing the Inner Child work is some of the most important and impactful therapy you'll ever do. We heal the inner child by working with the subconscious mind.
Suggestion and Therapy: Once you're in a state of hypnosis, I offer suggestions or therapeutic interventions tailored to your specific needs. These suggestions are designed to help you make positive changes, such as overcoming fears, managing pain, reducing stress and anxiety, improving sleep, or breaking unhealthy habits.
Addressing Underlying Issues: Hypnotherapy is used to explore and address the underlying emotional or psychological factors contributing to a person's issues. This can include unresolved trauma, past experiences, and deeply rooted beliefs. By accessing the subconscious mind, I can help you process and resolve these issues.
Hypnotherapy can be effective for a wide range of issues, including:
Smoking cessation: Helping individuals quit smoking by changing their perception of cigarettes and smoking.
Weight loss: Aiding in weight management by addressing emotional eating or unhealthy habits.
Phobias and fears: Reducing or eliminating phobias and anxieties, such as fear of flying, public speaking, or spiders.
Stress and anxiety: Teaching relaxation techniques and providing tools to manage stress and anxiety.
Pain management: Alleviating or reducing chronic pain, often in collaboration with medical treatment.
Sleep disorders: Improving sleep quality and addressing insomnia.
Self-esteem and confidence: Boosting self-esteem and self-confidence.
Habit control: Breaking unwanted habits, such as nail-biting or overeating.
Managing emotional issues: Addressing issues like depression, trauma, or grief.
It's important to note hypnotherapy is not a replacement for medical treatment. Additionally, hypnotherapy is most effective when conducted by a qualified and experienced hypnotherapist. It is safe when practiced by a trained professional.
"Erin has made a profound impact on my life. After my first session with her, I felt different. I can't really explain it, but I felt lighter...more free. Erin provided a great balance of compassion and the ability to speak difficult truth. I think a session with Erin was just what I needed to continue my journey of healing and being at peace with who I am and the value I bring to the world."
April, Hypnotherapy Client
“She has helped me resolve some early trauma in my life, handle my anxiety, and build healthier relationships with family and friends. One of the things I love about how Erin works is that she customizes your sessions to what you need and guides you on a journey to healing."
Louis, Hypnotherapy Client
“There is no other way to say it. Erin was amazing. Hypnotherapy is not what I thought. There's no swinging watch or magic tricks. It's essentially a lesson in deep relaxation and meditation. It was a deeply emotional and transformative experience. Erin gave me tools I can use in my daily life when anxiety and fear start to creep up. She helped me unpack long buried issues and healthy ways to cope and move forward with lessons, rather than regrets.”
"I was worried about trying yoga at my age, but she made it easy for me to follow along. I can do more than I ever imagined and look forward to each yoga class."
“I didn't know what was wrong with me but I knew I wasn't supposed to feel that way. I thought, What the heck is this hypnotherapy stuff? but I had to find something that worked... I was desperate. Erin made it so easy and comfortable. I'm glad I was willing to try something different. I feel so much better. I still listen to the recording she made me called “Calm the F*(k down, Jay! She has a sense of humor too."
